Iran movie to compete at Chinese fest

Iranian movie ‘Houra’ has been scheduled to go on screen at the 13th edition of the China International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF) in Guangzhou.

Produced by Gholamreza Sagharchian, the movie is to take part at the competition section of the Chinese event.

The flick has so far attended a number of international children film festivals in India, Germany, Norway, Istanbul, Canada, and South Korea.

‘Houra’ narrates the story of a rural teenage boy, Hadi, who lives with his family in the desert margins in Tehran-Mashhad railroad track. Hadi tries to keep alive a garden, which is the only legacy of his mother’s past.

Founded in 1989, the CICFF aims to provide Chinese children an opportunity to understand different cultures from all over the world, present Chinese children's life to international friends, help global and Chinese children's film professionals to exchange ideas and cooperate with one another, and promote the international development of children's films.

The 13th edition of the CICFF is slated for November 15-19, 2017.
